Board and Impact

Our impact

Currently, we have served nearly a million Malawians,  using mobile clinics and HIV treatment and education programs and radio broadcasts to help educate and reach rural areas who lack access to healthcare. We also do diabetes blood sugar testing, Tuberculosis testing, menstrual health education, and hygiene / sanitation management. We partnered with government healthcare workers and Kadidi Hospital to implement our programs. 

Founder and Director- Anish Shekar

Anish Shekar is the Founder of Zoteca Healthcare, and manages the budget, oversight, and partnerships. He founded the organization years back in efforts to provide humanitarian aid to countries such as Malawi who need healthcare the most, and lack stable healthcare programs .



Codirector- Shora Kauluka

Being inspired by Philip Crosby who said “Information by itself is not knowledge; it requires the addition of experience and consideration,” determination and positive risk taking is his commitment of developing communities at both national and international level. With over 23 years of experience in NGO and project management, he has designed, developed, pioneered, managed and led complex projects in Malawi, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe. It is along the way when Shora realized   the actual interpretation of Aldous Huxley quote when he had said “Experience is not what happens to you; it is what you do with what happens to you.” Has been applying the knowledge, wisdom and experience gained from his career to Fountain of Hope work from 2013. Some of the achievements in his career include pioneering donor funded projects  in Malawi  and Democratic Republic of Congo, in areas of food security, Nutrition, Livelihood, youth empowerment, women empowerment, gender based violence, ending child marriages,  family planning, HIV and AIDS, Water Sanitation and hygiene, Effective NGO governance, Climate change and environmental conservation. His professions at different levels include project management,  shipping management, child development, Developing a Strategic Community Plan, Organisational Structure and Training System, Implementation Science, Leadership and management, Policy development and advocacy., Mental health, Economic Evaluation, African Civic Engagement .

Chief Healthcare Director - Lawrence Munthali ​

Lawrence Munthali being a Co- Founder of Fountain of Hope(FOHOP), is the Director of Partnership and Resource Mobilisation. He has extensive experience in in all areas NGO management and governance. Being a complete leader with over 25 years hands on experience, he has led to the successful donor funds management of the organization since 2013. Lawrence has developed and led the strategy of the organization within the broad context of the local, national and international landscape by using performance measurements to guide strategic and operational decision-making. Has Cultivated a strong partnership with the Board of Directors in setting policies consistent with the mission of the Fountain of Hope (FOHOP) Works. His contribution has enabled the FOHOP to maintain very strong trust with the donors. With his Business Administration profession, has ensured organisation’s effective governance at all level structures.

Director of Healthcare Education-Kettie Mikwala

Kettie is a Technical  Assistant with specific focus on program development and management, monitoring and evaluation,  Research development, disability mainstreaming programming, child protection programming, combating gender based violence programming, youth and women empowerment programming, staff capacity building, health interventions,  water sanitation and hygiene programing.

Director of Community Outreach- Bridget Mkomo

Bridget has developed and implemented youth and children centred projects which have reached out to over 30,000  youth and children. Her planning, coordinating and facilitating implementation of capacity building project  has enabled the organisation to achieve her objectives. Through these projects Bridget has empowered young people with knowledge and information on HIV/AIDS and Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and services, has facilitated young people on  setting goals and visualizing the positive change that would take place if they would start making healthier and safer decisions. Has empowered youth through vocational skills and income generating activities for financial independent, has led the fight of ending child marriages while promoting children access to education. Her profession is Community Development.
